Connection of macOS (Apple Macintosh)
Instructions how to connect Apple Macintosh computer with macOS system to the WiFi network eduroam. Valid for students and staff of ÚJOP UK (Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies, Charles University) with login name login@ujop.cuni.cz.
Instructions:
Select WiFi network eduroam:
Enter your user name (with @ujop.cuni.cz) and your password:
Computer will try to connect to the eduroam wifi, but first of all ask you to check authentication server certificate:
Click on “Show Certificate” and “Details” and check if
- certificate is for name radius.ujop.cuni.cz
- certificate issuer is DigiCert Assured ID Root CA
- certificate is valid (small green point)
In the case everything is ok, click on “Continue” and your Mac will connect to the Eduroam. From now on your computer will connect to the eduroam wifi automatically everywhere it will be possible.
If some value is different, click on “Cancel” and do not connect now. Connection is not secure and someone else should obtain your password.
Solution of some known problems
In case your Mac does not connect, please check:
- your login name - it must be with “@ujop.cuni.cz” on the end
- your password - beware of letter size and Caps Lock key
Check your Mac for older Eduroam configuration and remove it:
- In system settings (“Apple / System Preferences”) look for icon “Profiles” and if this icon exist and contain profile for Eduroam, remote it.
- If network eduroam is in list of known wifi networks (“Apple / System Preferences / Network / Wi-Fi / Advanced / Preferrred Networks”), remote it.
