Connection of iPhone
Instructions how to connect iPhone to the WiFi network eduroam. Valid for students and staff of ÚJOP UK (Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies, Charles University) with login name login@ujop.cuni.cz.
Instructions:
Select WiFi network eduroam (“Settings / Wi-Fi”).
Enter your login name and password:
Question if you trust radius.ujop.cuni.cz certificate will appear:
Click on “More Details” and check values of “SUBJECT NAME” and “ISSUER NAME” cards:
In “SUBJECT NAME” must be
- Organisation: Univerzita Karlova
- Common Name: radius.ujop.cuni.cz
In “ISSUER NAME” must be
- Organisation: TERENA
- Common Name: TERENA SSL CA 3

In the case everything is ok, click on “Certificate” and on “Trust” and iPhone will connect to the Eduroam. From now on your computer will connect to the eduroam wifi automatically everywhere it will be possible.
If some value is different, click on “Cancel” and do not connect now. Connection is not secure and someone else should obtain your password.
Solution of some known problems
In case your iPhone does not connect, please check:
- your login name - it must be with “@ujop.cuni.cz” on the end
- your password - beware of letter size and Caps Lock key
Check your mobile for older Eduroam configuration and remove it:
- Look for section “Profiles” in Settings “Settings / General”). If section “Profiles” exist and profile for Eduroam is in this section, delete this profile.
- Click on “i in the circle” in list of available wifi networks (“Settings / Wi-Fi”) and in next click on “Forge This Network”:
