Connection of Android mobile
Instructions how to connect Android mobile phone to the WiFi network eduroam. Valid for students and staff of ÚJOP UK (Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies, Charles University) with login name login@ujop.cuni.cz.
Instructions:
There are big diferences between Android phones. Configuration of your phone may be different. Look for config items with the same name.
Select WiFi network eduroam (“Settings / Wi-Fi”):
Set or select next values in settings (see screenshot):
- Security: 802.1x EAP
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA certificate: Use system certificates
- Domain: radius.ujop.cuni.cz
- Identity: vaše přihlašovací jméno (login@ujop.cuni.cz)
- Anonymous identity: do not set
- Password: your password
Click on “Connect” and phone will connect to the wifi. From now on your computer will connect to the eduroam wifi automatically everywhere it will be possible.
Solution of some known problems
In case your phone does not connect, please check:
- your login name - it must be with “@ujop.cuni.cz” on the end
- if on the end your login name is not space character (result of autocorrect function)
- your password - beware of letter size and Caps Lock key
Check your mobile for older Eduroam configuration and remove it:
Click on “eduroam in list of available wifi networks (“Settings / Wi-Fi”) and in next window click on “FORGET”:
